Netsuke in Wood, Hand Carved & Signed; Mandarin Duck Netsuke in wood or ivory were worn as part of Japanese traditional dress as a toggle attached to the sash of a kimono. This is one of the very best in wood. A Mandarin Duck, beautifully carved and signed by a skilful artist. At 5 cm in length it is small but nonetheless a lovely ornament that will grace any shelf. If I knew the artist’s name, I could probably charge a great deal more.
