Netsuke in Wood, Hand Carved; Ape – vintage Japanese Originally Netsuke were worn as part of Japanese traditional dress as a toggle by which an article could be attached to the sash of a kimono. As the artistry of the makers of these grew so a world of collectors followed. Netsuke are made of many materials. This is one of the wooden variety. An Ape, beautifully hand carved. At 5 cm in height, it is small but nonetheless a lovely ornament that will grace any shelf.
